Sponsored by Chax Press

June 25, 2011, 10 am – 1 pm

Participation fee: $30.00

To register, please call: (520) 620-1626

Bring a friend or come solo to this lively workshop for poets and writers who would welcome a little word-play in their summer. If your solitary work needs a boost, if you’d rather be writing than waiting for the muse, if you want to fall in love with words (again!), or if you’re simply collab-curious—please join us.

Samuel Ace and Maureen Seaton are the co-authors of Stealth (Chax Press, 2011). Long-time friends, Maureen and Samuel have been collaborating through email for the past three years and are currently working on their second book, a hybrid of poetry, prose, and visuals.

Arts Marketplace in Warehouse Arts District!

In February, we shared a proposal for future uses of the C.O. Brown House with El Centro Cultural de las Americas and the Arizona Historical Society.   Our goal was to increase community awareness and usage of a community treasure in tandem with a consistent fundraising effort for the historic restoration and maintenance of the building.  Despite all efforts to start a dialog neither El Centro Cultural de las Americas nor the Arizona Historical Society were interested.  After much thought, stress and sadness we decided to move on to a more welcoming location.

And we found one!  With the help of Patricia Schwabe, Peach Properties, we landed in the middle of the Warehouse Arts District in The Old Market Inn, built in the 1880’s. We are delighted with our location, neighbors and the potential to grow Arts Marketplace and serve our community.   We’ll be getting gussied up in May for an Open House in June.  Join us for our membership drive in June.

Heartfelt thanks to a caring community who expressed concern, wrote letters of support and encouraged us during this challenging time.  We’ve made it through a tough situation with your help and look forward to more fun and positive adventures.
